TAKE BACK OUR CHILDREN BENEFIT CONCERT TOUR

"WE ARE ONE NEIGHBORHOOD"

ABOUT US

Our Vision:  To create a world where every child can grow up in a safe community, free from the impact of gun violence, and has access to a quality education and an abundance of job opportunities.

Our Mission: We are dedicated to eradicating gun violence in cities across America by providing resources, mentorship, and empowerment through our programs in at-risk communities.  We partner with local authorities, educators, and community leaders, to establish job training, education, and employment assistance, in a
positive and celebratory atmosphere.

Dr. Sesil Jenkins was a protégé of Marvin Gaye, and they became very close friends.  In fact, Marvin, whose song, “What’s Going On” spoke about his mission to end gun violence, and then entrusted Sesil to continue with his mission. Ironically, Marvin himself became a victim of gun violence. Dr. Jenkins continues with this mission, most recently by founding The Concert Series, a national community movement aimed at providing youth plagued by violence with viable options for a hopeful future. Together with mayors and local government officials, we can reduce and eventually eliminate gun violence in our communities.

Dr. Sesil Jenkins: “The strongest assistance we can offer our youth, in addition to mentorship, is education and entrepreneurship. Through communication we will help them discover their dreams, likes, dislikes and desires. That will be our starting point. Where we are different is contributing to their dreams and helping those dreams become reality. That's where entrepreneurship begins. Our hope is to have them focused to apply all their energy toward the success of the dream”.

Our Concerts bring awareness and resources to at-risk youth in cities nationwide. Our programs are introduced during our Four -Day Concert Events, that serve as a resource to empower youth and through our programs offer them alternatives to disenfranchisement and street violence.  A Music career is of great interest to many young people, and our mentoring programs offer them a real opportunity.  We offer on-site assistance for career planning, job search and connecting with companies and organizations that can help.  Together with our Camelot Round Table Members we look forward to bringing hope for at-risk youth throughout the country, with job training and job placement including for the trades (construction, electrician, plumbing, etc.).  We provide support and opportunities, while fostering productive behavior and facilitating integration of the youth into society.  With the support of community leaders, and partnerships with law enforcement agencies and grassroots organizations, we can bring an end to gun violence and create safer communities.
