About the event
This is Dr. Crosslin’s excellent idea. We cannot expect the children to be emotionally available to our programs if they experience a problematic home life. A positive view of the future is supported by our recognizing that hope for a better future starts at home. The goal is to have three local food pantry organizations join and present one large opportunity for those households in need to be able to come for
assistance. The parking lot next to the Scopes Arena is large enough to offer such a program. I have seen how a church in Danbury has organized their program, utilizing a large parking lot, establishing three “lanes” where cars to line up, moving forward to the loading station. At the loading station volunteers place one or two boxes filled with food items into the car, which leaves right afterwards. Organized and very efficient. The program illustrates our intention is not just to offer “advice”, but to address family needs also.
